The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has announced the CA Foundation and Intermediate exam dates for January 2027. Foundation exams run from January 3 to 9. Intermediate exams run from January 2 to 12. The ICAI Examination Department issued the schedule on September 23, 2026.
ICAI is the body that conducts the Chartered Accountancy course in India. It set the schedule under the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988.
This notification covers the schedule only. The exam form dates and the fee come in a separate notice. Do not treat the form window as open yet.
CA Intermediate January 2027 exam dates
The Intermediate exam runs in two groups. Every Intermediate paper is held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. IST. Each paper lasts three hours.

CA Foundation January 2027 exam dates
The Foundation exam has four papers. Each paper is on a separate day. The exams fall on January 3, 5, 7 and 9, 2027.
The timings are not the same for all four. Papers 1 and 2 run three hours, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. IST. Papers 3 and 4 run two hours, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. IST.
So the last two papers finish an hour earlier. Plan the shorter afternoons for those two.

What happens if a holiday falls on an exam day
The schedule stays fixed. ICAI has said the dates do not change if a public holiday is declared on any exam day. Sit the paper on the date shown.
The exams are held at centres across India. Some overseas centres are also used. ICAI runs a centre only if enough candidates opt for it.
When do CA Intermediate and Foundation overlap
The two blocks run side by side. Intermediate Group I starts on January 2. Foundation starts on January 3. Both finish by January 12.
