How would one-time registration work?

A candidate would register once on the DoPT portal. You share your mobile number, email and Aadhaar ID. You upload your photo and signature one time. Aadhaar is the 12-digit ID from UIDAI.

That registration then fills in for any job on the portal. UIDAI would authenticate the details. UIDAI is the Unique Identification Authority of India.

The portal would list every exam notice in one place. It would build a clash-free calendar after fixing dates with UPSC, SSC and RRB. Postponements would show as updates.

How is this different from e-Pariksha?

A similar platform already runs. It is called e-Pariksha, and it covers 10 agencies. The DoPT portal would widen that to more central and state exams.

So the gap is coordination, not a new idea. e-Pariksha handles exam conduct for its 10 bodies. The DoPT portal adds one-time apply and a national calendar.

Why is the DoPT portal being planned now?

The plan follows a run of clashes in 2026. The UPSC Civil Services Examination notice was deferred on February 4. UPSC cited administrative reasons.

One postal exam slipped a week. The Departmental Competitive Examination for postal assistants moved to June 28. It had clashed with revised NEET-UG dates. NEET-UG is the medical entrance test.

SSC also cancelled or rescheduled tests after technical faults. Railway Recruitment Boards revised several RRB exam dates. Both delays hit lakhs of candidates, the kind the portal aims to prevent.

The postal exam row is the one to watch. A shared calendar is meant to catch exactly that kind of clash before dates are announced.
