The National Testing Agency has released the provisional answer key for the UGC-NET June 2026 re-examination in English, Commerce and Sociology. Candidates can challenge answers online until September 13, 2026, up to 11:59 PM. Each objection costs Rs 200 per question, refunded in full if accepted. The key is live at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
NTA held this re-exam only for three subjects. The original June papers for English, Commerce and Sociology were scrapped after errors were found. The other 84 subjects finished their answer key stage weeks ago.
The National Testing Agency is the body that conducts UGC-NET across India. UGC-NET decides eligibility for Assistant Professor posts and Junior Research Fellowship.
What NTA has released for the 3 subjects
NTA has put out two things. One is the provisional answer key. The other is each candidate’s recorded response sheet.
Both cover the re-exam held on September 9 and 10, 2026. The test ran at centres across the country. Only candidates registered for English, Commerce or Sociology appear here.
How to challenge an answer
Log in at ugcnet.nta.nic.in with your application number and password. Open the answer key challenge link. Pick the questions you think are marked wrong.
Pay Rs 200 for each question you challenge. Payment is by debit card, credit card or net banking. NTA takes objections online only. It ignores challenges sent by email, letter or any other route.
What happens to your Rs 200
The fee comes back if experts accept your challenge. If subject experts reject it, the Rs 200 stays with NTA. One accepted correction is applied to every candidate in that subject.
So you do not need to raise the same objection twice. Fix it once. The correction carries across the whole subject.
What comes next for candidates
NTA reviews every objection with subject experts. It then prepares the final answer key. The revised key is published before the result.
Turn Your Achievements Into Stories That Students Actually Read
Feature admissions, placements, rankings, events, research initiatives, achievements, and institutional milestones before a highly engaged education-focused audience.
The result for English, Commerce and Sociology follows after this. These three subjects have waited longer than the other 84. This objection window is the last point to fix a wrong key answer before marks are locked.
