The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has declared the BPSC ASO Mains result 2026 at bpsc.bihar.gov.in. Santosh Kumar topped. A merit list of 594 candidates is out. Only 41 officer posts are open, so a rank is not a job.
BPSC published the result on October 28, 2026, under Advertisement No. 37/2025. ASO stands for Assistant Section Officer, a clerical post in the Bihar Secretariat. The commission runs this hiring for the state government.
Who topped the ASO Mains result 2026?
Santosh Kumar secured the first rank. Sarita Kumari came second. Rahul Raj Kumar came third.
BPSC ranked the list on General Knowledge marks. If two scored the same, the older candidate ranks higher. If ages also match, the Devanagari alphabet decides.
How many candidates are on the ASO merit list?
BPSC placed 594 candidates on the combined merit list. A total of 609 sat the ASO Mains on February 27, 2026. The exam ran in two shifts.
The list is long, but the recruitment is small. BPSC has only 41 ASO posts to fill. A rank on it is a step, not a job offer.
What about the candidates sent for disability checks?
BPSC sent 13 candidates with a disability claim to the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Patna. The institute set each person’s disability level.
Five were found below the 40 percent bar. Six did not show up. So 11 will not get the disability benefit.
