The National Testing Agency posted the calendar on September 16, 2026. NTA runs the national entrance exams for the Ministry of Education. UGC NET is dated December 14 to 19, 2026.
The dates may change for administrative, academic, statutory or logistical reasons. Publishing the calendar is not a notification for any exam. Each exam still needs its own information bulletin.
What does the NTA exam calendar 2026-27 cover?
The window runs December 6, 2026 to March 25, 2027. Buffer dates stretch it to March 31, 2027. That is 116 days in all.
Only 14 exams sit inside it. JEE is the Joint Entrance Examination for engineering seats. UGC NET is the National Eligibility Test of the University Grants Commission.

Buffer dates sit on only three of the 14 exams. UGC NET keeps December 20 and 21, 2026. JEE Main keeps January 31, 2027, and CUET PG keeps March 30 and 31, 2027.
When is JEE Main 2027 Session 1, and when does the form open?
JEE Main 2027 Session 1 falls on January 22, 23, 24, 28, 29 and 30, 2027. That is six exam days. January 31, 2027 is kept as a buffer day.
Last year the Session 1 window ran January 21 to 30, 2026. The 2027 window starts one day later and skips January 25, 26 and 27.

Some reports print the dates as January 22 to 30. The calendar splits them into two blocks. Three days in the middle are not exam days.
No form is open yet. The JEE Main 2027 information bulletin is expected in the first week of November 2026. That date is expected, not confirmed.

The NTA exam calendar 2026-27 dates Session 1 only. Session 2 is not in it, because the window closes in March 2027.
In 2026 the second session ran April 1 to 10. A student planning a two-attempt year has one dated session and one blank.
Why are NEET UG 2027 and CUET UG 2027 dates missing?
NEET UG 2027 and CUET UG 2027 are not in this calendar. The window stops at March 2027, and neither exam falls inside it. NEET UG is the entrance test for undergraduate medical seats.
NTA has announced no date for either exam. A Class 12 student aiming at a medical seat gets nothing usable here.
Which dates in the calendar fall on the same day?
Two exams share January 10, 2027. SHRESHTA (NETS) and the NIFT entrance exam are both listed on that day. NIFT is the National Institute of Fashion Technology.
AISSEE is on January 31, 2027. That is also the JEE Main buffer day. Both tests could land on one day.
CUET PG also overlaps NITTT Part 2 on March 5, 2027. NTA has not said how it will handle these clashes.
Why a tentative calendar still changes what you do in November
A tentative date is still a planning date, and the months here will not move far. The academic year does not shift. So lock the month and keep the day loose.
