What are the SSC CPO 2026 dates?
The last date to apply is September 30 at 11 p.m. IST. Fee payment closes on October 1 at 11 p.m. IST. A correction window opens from October 8 to October 10.
SSC lists 1,871 tentative vacancies. The Commission calls them tentative, so the count can change. Last year’s 2025 cycle carried a larger figure, near 3,700 posts.
What is the SSC CPO application fee?
The fee is Rs 100. Women, SC, ST and Ex-Servicemen candidates pay nothing. Payment is online only.
Apply online at ssc.gov.in or on the mySSC app. You must first finish a One-Time Registration on the new SSC website. An OTR made on the old website will not work now.
What is the SSC CPO salary and pay level?
The posts sit at Pay Level 6. The pay scale is Rs 35,400 to Rs 1,12,400 a month. SI in CAPFs and SI Fire in CISF are Group B posts. SI in Delhi Police is a Group C post.
Who can apply for SSC CPO 2026?
Most posts need candidates aged 20 to 25 years. SI Fire in CISF allows 18 to 30 years. Age is counted as on August 1, 2026.
For the 20 to 25 band, you must be born between August 2, 2001 and August 1, 2006. Reserved categories get age relaxation under government rules.
You need a Bachelor’s degree in any subject. SI Fire in CISF needs a Science degree with Physics, Chemistry and Maths, or a three-year engineering diploma. Final-year students may apply if they qualify by the closing date.

How is the SSC CPO selection done?
SSC runs selection in four stages. Paper 1 is a computer test. Then come the Physical Standard Test and Physical Endurance Test. Paper 2 is a second computer test. A Detailed Medical Examination is the last stage.
